Festival season can be seriously tricky to dress for. You want to look cool and stylish but you do have to consider battling the elements as you never know if it will be sun or showers.

When we think festival style idols, we inevitably think Kate Bosworth, Kate Moss, Jane Birkin and Alexa Chung, who look flawless but comfortable and also as if they're prepared for what is essentially a big wet stag do with lots of music in the background (Ok, fine maybe not Bosworth, who tends to plump for warmer festival options).

Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to wear hot pants, nor do you have to wear one of those natty hair accessories. What you will need is a warm jacket(unless you're festivaling on sunnier shores, in which case just a good pair of sunglasses will do); a slouchy jumper and a hardy pair of shorts. You need to be able to dance as energetically as Mick Jagger and walk for miles without getting wet feet or being in pain.

Going to a festival is a test of endurance; your festival 'wardrobe' if you go as far to call it that, should be a survival kit - essentials to make the experience easier. If you think about what you're wearing once you're there, you're not having enough fun. If your shoes or dress cross your mind once when you're inside those festival gates, walk to the nearest bar or fun fair immediately.
We've scoured the rails to find you shopping ideas to help cater to every kind of festival. It's about making sure that fun is your priority, not what you look like. The perfect denim-cut offs; the bomber jacket that will keep you warm when day turns to night; durable, but stylish footwear ideal for dancing; and the sparkly dress that will make you feel as carefree as an inebriated Seventies hippy - we've got it all covered
